Job 14 Link
Job so quickly forgot how wonderful his life had been now that he is going through hardship. He quickly adapted the mindset of "life sucks and then you die". Job had been one of the richest, blessed men around!
Hardships do not erase the good times in our lives. But sometimes it is so easy to forget. We can't forget out mountain top experiences every time we hit a valley. It is the memory of the good things in life, the times when God pulled us through, or blessed us, that can help us to see forward. Bad times don't last forever. It is important to remember the good times to remain motivated and strong, to keep trying, and trust that God will once again pull us through.
Life is a series of ups and downs. Don't focus on the downs. Journalling when things are going really well, when you really feel on fire for God, and when he does big things in your life, can help when you are down and out. Then you can read back and strengthen your faith that he will provide instead of assuming the same "life sucks and then you die" mentality.
